Missing Carrim: Be careful before sharing or posting info!

The search is continuing for Pretoria businessman, Omar Carrim (76), who disappeared last week.
Carrim left his business, Home Hyper, on Thursday at 17h45 for home in Laudium and never returned.
Police have launched a massive search and they have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
Some have been quick to jump onto social making various claims: from posts that it’s kidnapping to that he has been found.
We need to be cautious before posting and sharing information. It could hamper police investigations and even place the safety of the victim/s at risk.
We often deal with organized crime syndicates and sensitivity is key. Let’s not try to be first to share or break news at the expensive of the victim/s.
When there are hostages or when we deal with kidnappings, we must learn to observe protocols. Let’s give law enforcement agencies time and space to do their work.
